Peformance Training

Are you ready to take your athletic or artistic endeavors to the next level? Are you looking for more strength, speed, power, agility, flexibility, or endurance? Do you know that you could do better, if you could move better?

Then Performance Training at the Movement Arts Clinic is for you.

Ryan Lawrence, PT, CSCS, CAFS is an expert at finding the strengths and flaws in human movement.  As an athlete these strengths can lead to overuse patterns and flaws to injury.  And, any break in the kinetic chain can impair performance, hinder progress, or limit potential.

Ryan's background as a professional dancer make him uniquely qualified for training the athletes of today.  Linear strength and isolated movement are no longer applicable training methods for today's athletes, and success on the field, court, or stage tends to be in how one connects the dots, flows, and reacts...all movement traits inherent in dance.

But, it is not only personal history which Ryan brings to the table.  His education and clinical experience includes Physical Therapy, or the advanced study of the neuro-muscular-skelatal system and injury rehabilitation and prevention.  A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, he joins the ranks of college educated professionals who work with sports teams, tactile units, and professional athletes to improve performance.  Additionally, he is Certified in Applied Functional Science, a designation reserved for those who have completed training in the integration of physical sciences, movement sciences, and behavioral sciences to help analyze and train function.

Whether you are a youth athlete, aspiring dancer, or weekend warrior, come discover what has been missing in your training regimen.  We've helped golfers get a handicap into the single digits, runners improve efficiency in their stride, and dancers remain injury free throughout a season.  Don't you owe it to yourself to be the best you can be?

90 Minute Assessment

This assessment is perfect for athletes, dancers, or active adults seeking to discover the faulty movement patterns and breaks in the kinetic chain which may predispose them to injury or limit performance and achievement.  We begin with an intake, past-medical history, and dialogue, discussing your goals, training regimen, and goals.

Following intake, you'll begin with a movement assessment where the exercises continue the evaluation.  Manual techniques round out the session to help further determine tissue quality and evaluate where any points of restricted mobility or physical liability exist.

Use the session as a one-off or let it be the beginning of your Sport Specific Training with the Movement Arts Clinic.

60 Minute Session

Following an assessment where your goals and limitations are discussed and movement strengths and liabilities are determined, you will be guided through curated exercises and activities selected for you.  We won't waste any time counting reps or doing what you should already be doing in the gym.  Each minute of this one-on-one session will be maximized so that you reach your full potential.

60 Minute sessions include exercise programing, manually assisted stretching , facilitated mobilization, soft tissue work, and home exercises.

30 Minute Speed Session

Looking for a tune-up, warm-up, or quick review, you'd be surprised what we can do in 30 minutes. Take advantage of this speed session for a high intensity workout, reassessment, or skills review.

30 minute sessions can include facilitated stretching, soft-tissue work, and mobilization, or be focussed on movement re-training, including jump, run, walk, yoga, or dance specific strengthening and coordination.

Small Group 60 Minute Session

Do you do better with friends or with a team?  Small Group training can be utilized when two to three individuals with similar goals and activity level want to train together.

You'll still receive personal attention and instruction with exercises tailored to the group setting.  Motivate each other and hold each other accountable while having fun, working on your athletic ability or training dance specific strength and mobility.
